Geologist wins memorial award

Toronto geologist David Ross has been selected as the 1998-99 winner of the David Money Memorial Award, presented each year to the top student in the masters mineral exploration program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.

The medal was established in 1993 by family and friends of David Money, a graduate of the program. Money died tragically in an automobile accident while employed by Falconbridge.

David Ross was presented with the medal in early April by Dean MacEachern, senior geologist for Falconbridge.

After graduating, Ross set up his own company, Polaris Geoscience, which specializes in remote sensing and geographic information systems. The company is based in Toronto.
