Geomaque Explorations (GEO-T) has completed its second phase of drilling at the Vueltas del Rio gold deposit in northwestern Honduras.
Consisting of 72 diamond drill holes totalling 5,500 metres, the drilling attempted to define the extent of known mineralization, while testing for potential at depth.
The latest drill results include three holes that extend the eastern limit of oxide mineralization in the San Roberto zone: 9 metres (from surface) grading 1.04 grams gold per tonne in hole 323; 10 metres (from surface) of 1.78 grams gold in hole 325; and 11 metres (from surface) of 1.05 grams gold in hole 331.
Holes 336, 337, 338 and 340 are among the deepest holes drilled to date in the Main zone, and multiple ore-grade intercepts in these holes show gold mineralization continuing at depth.
Known mineralization at the Vueltas del Rio deposit now covers a 1.5-by-450-metre area. The deposit remains open west of the San Roberto and Main zones, and further drilling is required to define the mineralization between the San Roberto and San Juan zones.
Five of the 16 holes on which assays are pending are exploration holes drilled on geochemical, geophysical and geological targets outside the area of known mineralization.
A feasibility study is expected to be completed this fall.
