Geophysical conference attracts international audience

More than 80 presentations will be made at a conference on geophysical and geochemical exploration technology scheduled for Sept. 14-18 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Entitled “Exploration ’97: The Fourth Decennial Conference on Mineral Exploration,” the meeting will focus on the current state of geophysical and geochemical technology.

In excess of 1,000 delegates from 60 countries are expected to attend the presentations, which will deal with: exploration technology; integrated exploration information management; seismic exploration methods; radiometric and remote sensing; and electrical and electromagnetic exploration methods.

A series of pre-Conference workshops will cover such areas as: mining and groundwater geophysics; airborne geophysics; applications for gamma-ray spectometry; borehole geophysics; software application in geophysical interpretation; and exploration geochemistry in areas of tropical and sub-Tropical terrain.
