Drills are turning again on the Rainbow joint venture near Kamloops, B.C.
Partners Getchell Resources (VSE) and Teck (TSE), which own 30% and 70%, respectively, are carrying out this second phase of work in order to follow up previous drilling which outlined porphyry copper mineralization potentially minable by open-pit methods.
The program consists of 2,100 metres.
Meanwhile, Getchell is in the midst of advanced-stage negotiations with Teck for the development of its Galaxy property.
The property contains an estimated 3.2 million tonnes grading 0.65% copper, as well as 0.34 gram gold per ton, which could be processed at Teck’s nearby Afton-Ajax mine.
