Getty, Fairfield to drill Logan

A $1.2 million exploration program will be conducted on the Logan zinc-silver property by partners Getty Resources and Fairfield Minerals. Located 65 miles west of Watson Lake, Yk., the Logan project hosts estimated reserves of 2.7 million tons grading 10.2% zinc and 1.1 oz silver per ton to a depth of 400 ft. The deposit remains open along strike and at depth.

Beginning in May, the exploration work will include the construction of a 3,000-ft gravel airstrip and 17,000 ft of large diameter drilling. Work completed last year defined a 13,000-ft long structure hosting three separate zones. The Main zone strikes for 2,300 ft and is a 200-ft wide, steeply dipping tabular body of zinc-silver mineralization averaging 4%-7% zinc across its entire width.
