The gold potential of Quebec’s Barry and Urban twps. has prompted several juniors to acquire additional ground in the region.
Among them are Moss Resources (MRS-T) and Greenshield Resources (GSR-M), which have jointly signed an agreement-in-principal to earn a 100% interest in a mineral property in Barry Twp.
The juniors can earn the interest by a combination of cash and shares valued at $140,000, and share purchase warrants. The vendors will retain a 1.5% net smelter return royalty.
The property is 4 km southeast of the partners’ Urban property and adjacent to a neighboring project where drilling intersected 6 grams gold per tonne over a width of 6.7 metres. The newly optioned ground was previously tested by 23 holes. Moss and Greenshield intend to evaluate the results of previous work before initiating a work program.
Meanwhile, in Urban Twp., the 50-50 partners have launched a 10,000-ft.
drill program designed to examine the extent of several gold zones. The gold occurs with disseminated to semi-massive sulphides in felsic and intermediate volcanic rocks in a 500-metre-wide zone of intense shearing and alteration. The partners believe the property is similar to the Bousquet area of Quebec.
The most advanced gold project in the Barry-Urban region is a land package held by Murgor Resources (MUG-T), which is being explored by Teck (TEK-T).
