Global theme to CIM meeting

More than 500 scientists from 30 nations are expected to attend the Aug. 21-25 conference in Toronto hosted by the Metallurgical Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

The scientists will discuss global concern for the balance between production, performance and stewardship.

Speakers at the Aug. 22 plenary session will be John Mayberry, president of Dofasco; David Goldman, executive vice-president of Noranda Minerals; and Keith Brimacombe, a professor at the University of British Columbia.
