Golden Shield mills Mirado ore

Custom milling of ore from the Mirado property held by Golden Shield Resources has begun on Jan 20, the company says. Milling is taking place at the McBean mill, near Kirkland Lake, Ont.

Approximately 10,000 tons of material from an open pit and a development muck pile has been transported to the mill. By April, Golden Shield hopes to have 60,000 tons of open pit ore stockpiled at the mill site. Open pit ore grades 0.22 oz gold per ton.

By July, mill feed will come from the Mirado underground mine. Fully diluted reserves are estimated at 500,000 tons grading 0.33 oz above the 350-ft level. Deep drilling will test for extensions of the zone between 350 ft and 1,000 ft during the year.
