Golden Star finds new zone in Guyana

Golden Star Resources says a new zone of gold mineralization has been discovered on the company’s Omai property in Guyana, South America.

The newly identified gold-bearing sector, the so-called wenot-zone, is located half a mile south of the original Omai gold deposit. A 1,000-ft sq area of weathered granite, similar to the rocks hosting the Omai gold deposit, has been tested to depths of up to 13 ft. Assay results now indicate an average grade of 0.043 oz gold per ton which is identical to the grade of weathered zone above the original Omai discovery.
