Assay results from trench and surface samples indicate two new mineralized areas at the gold-silver prospect held by Golden Zone Developments in the Talkeetna district, Alaska.
In addition to the existing Golden Zone Breccia Pipe and blt zones, which have probable geologic reserves of 534,610 tons averaging 0.238 oz gold per ton (above a cutoff of 0.12 oz), the new mineralized zones are called the Mayflower Lobe and Bryn Mawr dike.
The Mayflower Lobe is a massive porphyry dike that projects towards the area of the Mayflower vein and skarn zone about 1,000 ft north of the Breccia Pipe. Highest value of a 5-ft sample was 0.488 oz. The Bryn Mawr dike is about 2,000 ft northeast of the Breccia Pipe. Five of eight samples from the dike and adjacent rocks exceed 0.1 oz. Bryn Mawr is a complex fault-dike structure traceable for several thousand feet and is a major future exploration target, the company says.
Results of a 10,000-ft drill program are expected shortly.
