Gowest, GeoNova team at Cavalier

Juniors Gowest Amalgamated Resources (GWA-A) and GeoNova Explorations (GNE-M) have entered into an equal joint-venture agreement at the latter’s Cavalier property, in the Casa Berardi region of northwestern Quebec.

The 275-ha claim group is cut by the east-westerly trending Casa Berardi fault over a distance of 1.6 km. In 1995-96, four holes were drilled along the fault with one hole intersecting 10.95 grams gold per tonne over 4 metres, at a depth of less than 155 metres. The drilling also intersected a zone of massive, bleached, carbonatized volcanic rock that may host gold mineralization.

With GeoNova as operator, the partners will begin a 6-hole drilling program designed to test the dimensions of gold mineralization along the Casa Berardi fault.
