Copper-zinc mineralization down dip from the Bob Lake massive sulphide deposit, near Sherridon, Man., has been confirmed in drilling by Halo Resources (HLO-V).
Halo is drilling the eastern extension of the Bob Lake deposit and has now drilled three sections south and east of the known mineralization, covering a strike length of 600 metres. The newest drill hole, DH-11, intersected mineralization 65 metres down dip from the known massive sulphide lens, cutting a 10.7-metre intersection grading 0.92% copper, 1.51% zinc, 7.8 grams silver and 0.2 gram gold per tonne.
Two other holes cut multiple zones of massive sulphides, one of 6.4 metres grading 0.78% copper, 1.81% zinc, 6 grams silver and 1 gram gold per tonne, and another of 3.7 metres grading 0.26% copper, 3.6 grams silver and 3.8 grams gold per tonne. The latter appears to have intersected a copper-gold zone, possibly in the footwall of the mineralized horizon.
Five earlier holes also intersected significant widths of massive-sulphide mineralization, also in repeating stratigraphic zones. Among the better results were a 24.9-metre interval that graded 0.76% copper, 0.49% zinc, 7.2 grams silver and 0.2 grams gold per tonne, and a 7.3-metre intersection averaging 0.94% copper, 0.9% zinc, 8 grams silver and 0.3 gram gold.
Down-hole electromagnetic surveys are underway to guide future drilling.
