Hebron Fjord to resume work in Peru

Armed with $600,000 from a recent financing, Hebron Fjord Resources (HEF-M) plans to resume drilling at its Torrecillas gold-copper property in southern Peru.

Late last year, the company drilled four holes totalling 898 metres. The holes showed gold grades of less than 1 gram per tonne. Similar results were obtained from channel samplings on outcrops. Two holes totalling 442 metres were drilled earlier this year with similar results.

A 500-km, airborne geophysical survey will be conducted in an attempt to identify new drill targets.

Hebron Fjord has allocated $300,000 for a 10-hole program, which will target coincident geochemical and geophysical anomalies. The drilling will begin this fall.

The company has other properties in the same region, including the Salaverry-Copara gold-copper property.

Frederic Dugre, vice-president, says the company is engaged in discussions with major companies for a possible joint venture of the Torrecillas project. “We’re also looking at other projects in southern Peru,” he says, adding “we feel this area has the makings of a gold-copper porphyry camp.”
