Hector completes drilling B.C. gold/ silver claims

A 2,000-ft drill program on Hector Resources’ gold claims in the Iskut River area of northwestern B.C. has produced encouraging gold assays. Hector has a 100% interest in the claim group, which adjoins Skyline Explorations’ property to the northeast.

Exploration work this year outlined an anomalous area of auriferous quartz/pyrite veining (the Golden Spray zone) which extends over 1,000 ft. Results from nine of the 15 holes drilled to test this zone returned values up to 0.2 oz gold per ton and 4.95 oz silver over widths of up to 5 ft, President Charles Underhill reports.

Exploration work is proceeding on Hector’s Hedley gold claims adjoining Mascot Gold Mines’ operation at Hedley, B.C. A preliminary program of geophysical work, sampling and trenching has been completed to establish potential drill targets for 1988. Drilling is also slated next year on the former producing American Flag gold/ silver property and on the Casa Berardi gold prospect in Joutel Twp., Que.
