General Minerals (GNM-T) has intercepted high-grade copper-gold values at its Pajaritos property in Chile.
The company recently drilled eight holes, each of which intercepted anomalous values. The highest-grade interval was 22 metres grading 3.36% copper and 0.92 gram gold per tonne at a depth of 268 metres.
The mineralization is believed to be structurally controlled in highly altered sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The 3,119-ha property contains numerous surface workings, as well as copper and gold anomalies. Previous drilling at the property revealed widespread alteration.
The next phase of drilling will attempt to trace the skarn mineralization discovered in the high-grade interval and explore other geologic and geophysical targets.
Since January, General Minerals has completed drilling at several projects, including Productura, San Antonio, Cacique and Vizcachitas in Chile, and the Huang Shui Gou in China. More drilling is planned at three additional projects, in Chile and Peru.
