Hudbay Minerals’ Lalor and Reed mines officially opened on Sept. 16 in Manitoba.
The Lalor gold-zinc-copper mine sits 13 km west of Snow Lake and is set to produce 3,300 tonnes of ore per day, with a 15-year projected mine life.
The Reed copper mine — 45 km southwest of Snow Lake — is a joint venture with 30% owner VMS Ventures and is expected to handle 1,300 tonnes of ore per day, with a five-year mine life.
