The prospect of finding diamonds at the Tshane project in southwestern Botswana appears to be increasing, as more indicator minerals are found by owner Menora Resources (men-m).
The company reports that new results from Block C extend a kimberlite indicator mineral anomaly and establish an apparent southerly limit to the structure. Farther to the south in this 100-sq.-km block, a new area with a high concentration of kimberlite indicator minerals (including G10 pyrope garnets) was identified.
This new area of high-indicator frequency reflects what is believed to be a kimberlite source other than those recovered previously in nearby areas.
The current field program is extending the soil-sampling coverage of the licence area at a rate of 100 sq. km per month. Samples are being recovered at the intersections of a 1-km grid.
