Indusmin building new silica crushing plant

Indusmin, the industrial mineral division of Falconbridge Ltd., is building a $2.5-million crusher station in St. Canut, Que., to improve the company’s position in the silica market in that province.

The plant will include a 42-in 48-in Allis Chalmers jaw crusher, a 5 1/2-ft Symons standard cone crusher and a 8-ftx20-ft Tyrock screen. A lso included in the design is a 90-ft diameter, 1,500 live ton stockpile. The plant will be capable of producing 400 tons of material every hour.

The project should be completed this summer.
