INSIDER TRADING — Gitennes executives sell company shares

Directors and officers of Gitennes Exploration (GIT-A) were among the insiders who traded securities in recent weeks, according to the Ontario Securities Commission.

J.D. Blackwell, senior officer, sold 7,200 shares at $3.80-3.90 and bought 15,000 shares at $2.50-2.60 to hold 509,200 shares; J.F. Bradley, senior officer, sold 25,000 shares at $3.80-3.85 to hold 25,000 shares; and R.G.

Shoniker, director, exercised 150,000 options at 66 cents and sold 150,000 shares at $4.46 to hold 125 shares directly.

Other noteworthy incidents of insider trading for the period Sept. 27-Nov. 1 include the following:

* Aber Resources (ABZ-T) — J.F. Bradley, senior officer, exercised 10,000 options at $7.87 and sold 10,000 shares at $22.70-22.80 to hold 10,000 options and no shares.

* Band-Ore Resources (BAN-T) — W.J. O’Connor, director, sold 67,000 shares at $10-11 to hold 1.6 million shares.

* Bell Molybdenum Mines (BEM-V) — S.R. Horne, director, received 50,000 options and bought 72,000 shares at 50-60 cents to hold 626,500 shares and 50,000 options, all through Tombill Mines.

* Breakwater Resources (BWR-T) — R. Benzinger, director and senior officer of an affiliated company, bought 21,260 shares privately at $2.35 to hold 26,260 shares; G.F. Bub, director, bought 21,260 shares at $2.15 to hold 143,570 shares; G.G. Clow, senior officer, received 250,000 options and bought 5,000 shares by private placement at $2.15 to hold 5,000 shares and 250,000 options; and R. Galipeau, senior officer, bought 22,860 shares at $2.33 to hold 45,360 shares.

* Canquest Resource (CQ-V) — John Bissett, director, exercised 40,000 warrants at 25 cents and bought 44,000 shares at 25-30 cents to hold 326,667 warrants and 370,667 shares, whereas S.M. Bissett, director, bought 224,500 shares at 25-34 cents and sold 49,000 shares at 29-35 cents to hold 807,667 shares.

* Diadem Resources (DIR-M) — Margaret Bartlett, a relative of Derek Bartlett, director, sold 5,000 shares at $7.90 to hold 64,000 shares; Lina Noble, director, sold 3,000 shares at $8-8.10 to hold 122,000 shares; G.C.

Silverman, director, sold 9,800 shares at $7.30 to hold 190,427 shares; and Waverley Mining Australia, an affiliated company, sold 187,000 shares at an undisclosed price to hold 2.1 million shares.

* Franco-Nevada Mining (FN-T) — R.W. Luba, director, through R.W. Luba Financial, sold 16,000 shares at $50.50-50.90 to hold 2,000 shares.

* Goldstake Explorations (GXP-T) — G.J. Handley, director, exercised 88,000 options at $1.40 and sold 85,000 shares at $2.45-4.00 to hold 3,000 shares.

* Inco (N-T)–M.D. Sopko, director, sold 4,177 shares at $43.50 to hold 18,905 shares.

* International Curator Resources (IC-T) — R.J. Bailes, senior officer, sold 3,000 shares at $14.25 to hold 83,000 shares. J.D. Tocher, director, sold 80,000 shares at $14.60 to hold 186,429 shares.

* International Pursuit (IPJ-T) — R.J. Boxer, director, sold 100,000 shares through a registered retirement savings plan at $5.25-5.35 to hold 477,655 shares in the RRSP, 45,000 shares in a spousal RRSP, and 2,700 shares directly.

* Northfield Minerals (NFM-T) — Vahan Kololian, director, bought 25,000 shares at $1.75 to hold 25,000 shares.

* Nuinsco Resources (NWI-T) — S.A. Averill, director, bought 10,000 shares at $3.19, exercised 5,000 options at $1.92, and, through Overburden Drilling Management, exercised a further 20,000 options at $1.92, to hold 65,000 shares directly and 20,000 shares indirectly.

* Southern Africa Minerals (SAF-T) — W.J. O’Connor, director, sold 189,440 shares at $1.10-1.22 and bought 25,000 shares at $1.55 to hold 122,376 shares.

* Southwestern Gold (SWG-T) — R.J. Mazur, director, sold 2,000 shares through Green Line to hold 4,000 shares. C.R. Petersen, senior officer, exercised 2,000 options at $10.10 to hold 2,000 shares and 38,500 options.

* Westmin Resources (WMI-T) — B.K. McKnight, senior officer, bought 1,950 shares through an RRSP to hold 7,500 shares, and W.T. Segsworth, director, bought 20,000 shares at $6.35 to hold 29,000 shares.
