INSIDER TRADING — Officers of Kinross sell shares

Four senior officers of Kinross Gold (TSE) reaped the rewards of successful management and sold shares in the open market during recent weeks.

According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulleting, Arthur Ditto, director and senior officer, sold 30,000 shares at US$7.63 to hold 649,620 shares. Allen Gorden sold 41,000 shares at $10.38-$11.38 to hold 61,000 shares. Garry Hughes, senior officer, exercised options and warrants and acquired 15,000 shares at $2.75 and then sold 15,000 shares at $7-$10.75 to hold 33,800 shares, 200,000 options and 20,000 warrants. Brian Penny, senior officer, exercised options and acquired 25,000 shares at $1.40 and sold 24,000 shares at $9.63-$9.88 to hold 1,000 shares and 75,000 options. Other transactions reported in August and September included:

* Aber Resources (TSE) — Earl Curry, director, sold 35,000 shares at $9.38-$9.88 to hold 115,000 shares. Robert Gannicott, director, sold 300,000 shares at $8.25 through Priddy Investments to hold 365,050 shares. John Parker, director, sold 3,000 shares at $9.50-$9.75 to hold 24,000 shares.

* Altai Resources (TSE) — Niyazi Kacira, director and senior officer, sold 250,000 shares at 68-72 to hold 1,629,807 shares.

Ariel Resources (TSE) — Fredrick Knight, an unknown relation to the company, exercised options and acquired 30,000 shares at $1.40 and sold 24,000 shares at $2.54-$3.85 to hold 13,000 shares and 50,000 options.

* Continental Precious Metals (ME) — E. Godin, director and senior officer sold 100,000 shares at 80 to hold 1,150,482 shares.

Euro-Nevada Mining (TSE) — Pierre Lassonde senior officer and director, was granted 100,000 options at an undisclosed price to hold 100,000 options.

* Geomaque Explorations (TSE) — Norman Paterson, director, exercised options and acquired 20,000 shares at 60 and sold 20,000 shares at $1.55-$1.59 to hold no shares and 170,000 options.

* Goldnev Resources (VSE) — Leslie MacConnell, director, exercised options and acquired 100,000 shares at 94 and bought an adfditionmal 16,300 shares in the open market at $1.30-$2.05 and sold 183,300 shares at $1.20-$289 to hold 10,000 shares and 250,000 options.

* Loki Gold (TSE) — Ronald Netolitzky, director, bought 15,000 shares at $1.70 to hold 2,798,750 shares.

* Pangea Goldfields (TSE) — Mathew Edler, senior officer, sold 7,000 shares at $2.25-$2.32 to hold 10,000 shares.
