INSIDER TRADING — Senior officers and directors trade Barrick Gold shares

A senior officer and two directors of Barrick Gold (TSE) sold common shares of the company in March.

According to the Ontario Securities Commission’s OSC Bulletin, Luis Baertl, senior officer, exercised options and bought 10,000 shares at $18.19 and sold another 10,000 shares at $33.13-$33.50 to hold no shares.

Howard Beck, director, sold 200,000 shares at $35.38 to hold 252,774 shares, while Angus MacNaughton, director and senior officer, sold 10,000 shares at US$25.25 to hold 30,000 shares.

Other transactions for the month included:

Aber Res. (TSE) — Robert Hindson, senior officer, exercised options and bought 20,000 shares at $1.85 and sold 20,000 shares at $7.50-$8.88 to hold no shares. He also sold 20,000 options at $1.85 to hold 130,000 options.

Aurizon Mines (TSE) — John Harvey, senior officer, was granted 100,000 options at $1 to hold 225,000 options; Brian Moorehouse, director, was granted 50,000 options at $1 to hold 250,000 options; and William Vance, director, was granted 50,000 options at $1 to hold 150,000 options.

Caledonia Mining (TSE) — Walter Forrest, director, sold 8,000 shares privately at $11 and another 10,000 shares at $9.45-$9.50 to hold 17,000 shares. John Harbinson, director, exercised options and sold 17,000 shares at $11 and another 17,000 shares at $9.21-$9.70; in addition, he exercised options to buy 25,000 shares at $5.25 to hold 25,000 shares.

Diamond Fields Res. (TSE) — Michael McMurrough, director and senior officer, exercised options and bought 1,000 shares at 50 cents and sold 1,000 shares at $12.25 to hold 150,000 shares.

Echo Bay Mines (TSE) — David Naccarati, senior officer, exercised options and bought 54,805 shares at $5.75-$9.75 and sold 54,805 shares at US$9.63 to hold no shares.

International Curator Res. (VSE) — George Finlayson, director, exercised options and bought 20,000 shares at 55 cents and sold 20,000 shares at $1.80 to hold 6,900 shares.

Tyler Resources (TSE) — Glen Harper, a director, senior officer and holder of more than 10% of the company’s securities, sold 66,000 shares at 43 cents-49 cents. In addition, he exercised options and bought 100,000 shares at 28 cents to hold 385,000 shares.
