Int’l Curator cuts new zone

Vancouver — International Curator Resources (IC-T) has discovered a gold zone along strike of the Hunt target on the Assean Lake project, 120 km northeast of Thompson, Man.

Collared 3.5 km away from the Hunt zone, hole 60 returned 4 metres grading 10.2 grams gold at a down-hole depth of 42 metres. Included in this section was a higher-grade portion running 23.9 grams gold over 1.5 metres.

The company cut the zone while testing a series of geophysical anomalies during an ongoing 5,000-metre drill program. Some 2,000 metres of drilling is planned for reconnaissance targets; as well, 3,000 metres (eight holes) will test the Hunt zone to a depth of 350 metres.

So far, the Hunt target has been intersected by 24 holes over a strike length of 700 metres and to a depth of 150 metres. Grades as high as 9.37 grams gold over 8.15 metres have been intersected. The high-grade shoot remains open at depth and is flanked by lower-grade mineralization. A second, thick gold zone was intersected 20 metres below the main mineralization.

Numerous targets remain untested along the 8-km-long strike length of the Assean Lake deformation zone, which represents a deep-seated fault system. Gold mineralization at Assean Lake occurs in highly altered and silicified shear zones in Archean and Proterozoic-aged metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks. These rocks lie on the boundary of the Superior and Churchill geologic provinces.

International Curator can earn a 60% stake in the property from a private company by spending $1.25 million over four years.
