Toronto-based Inter-Rock Gold (ME) has been active in southern Nevada, acquiring a new property and completing a 40-hole program on its Secret Pass deposit.
The new property, known as Mother Lode, is being acquired for $US75,000 and a 2% net smelter return royalty payment. Situated east of Secret Pass, it hosts a past-producing, heap-leach deposit which operated for one year, during which time 850,000 tons of oxide ore were leached. The average grade was 0.06 oz. gold per ton.
Mother Lode has a drill-indicated, geological reserve of 9.4 million tons of sulphide ore grading 0.046 oz. and 2.8 million tons of oxide ore averaging 0.039 oz. Inter-Rock will explore several areas prospective for gold mineralization.
At Secret Pass, the company has drilled 20 holes along the margins of the deposit. Five of these, drilled along the northern margin, intersected 200-350 ft. of mineralization which averaged 0.01-0.05 oz. to a depth of 600 ft.
This northern extension remains open in all three directions and it is hoped that drilling of another four holes will confirm the mineralization. In addition, 15 holes are being drilled north and east of Secret Pass.
