Intrepid confirms grades

A twin hole drilled by Intrepid Minerals (IAU-V) has confirmed bonanza silver grades previously encountered at the Cerro Coloado III discovery in western El Salvador.

The diamond drill hole returned 53 metres of 285 grams silver per tonne, which includes two higher-grade intervals: 14 metres grading 698 grams silver and 0.15 gram gold per tonne, plus 0.58% lead and 1.09% zinc; and 11 metres of 118 grams silver, 0.2 gram gold, 1.14% lead and 5.81% zinc.

This hole was meant to duplicate a reverse-circulation (RC) hole that returned 305 grams silver over 55 metres, including 5 metres of 832 grams silver and 4 metres of 926 grams silver. When silver assays are cut to 1,000 grams, the average silver grade over a 53-metre interval is 271 grams for the RC hole and 272 grams for the diamond drill hole.

The holes were drilled through a baryte stockwork capping Cerro Colorado III, which is a dacite-porphyry hill on the company’s Aldea Zapote concession. The concession covers old Spanish workings and numerous surface showings.
