Intrepid to drill Zapote

Toronto-based junior Intrepid Minerals (IAU-A) is about to drill the Cerro Colorado target at its Zapote gold-silver property in northern El Salvador.

The program will test a bonanza-silver stockwork that has been traced to the former San Casimiro mine, 500 metres to the north. Trench sampling of the main zone at Cerro Colorado III produced an average grade of 288 grams silver per tonne over a combined true width of 48.7 metres.

Intrepid is also completing an agreement with Cementos de El Salvador, the country’s largest industrial minerals company, which will give the latter the right to quarry limestone on the Zapote concession.

Intrepid has a 75% interest in Zapote and holds the remainder under option from the junior’s major shareholder, High River Gold Mines (HRG-T).

Meanwhile, at its San Cristobal project in eastern El Salvador, Intrepid is collecting samples in preparation for drilling.
