J.A.G. confident about gold bet

J.A.G. Mines continues to feel confident about its Malartic gold property in northwestern Quebec, President Pierre Gevry writes in the annual report.

A new drilling campaign this year is following up on exploration programs of the past two years on the property. To date, five gold-bearing pods have been delimited, with the pods contained in a structure 4,000 ft long and 600 ft deep. The structure is believed to extend sideways and in depth.

On the Belleterre property, the most promising discovery has been the Aubell e-1 vein. Exploration work there continues.

The company last year recovered property in Davis Twp., near Sudbury, Ont., where it is felt there is a good potential for gold production. The company will also test for platinum group metals on the property this year.

Among the other projects in which J.A.G. is involved are two Quebec silica properties, several properties in the Eastern Twps. and one property near James Bay.
