Jilbey extends Bissa

Reverse-circulation drilling by Jilbey Gold Exploration (JLB-V) has extended gold mineralization at the Bissa project in Burkina Faso. The deposit has grown by 1.5 km as a result.

Four holes at Zone 1 are highlighted by a 3-metre intercept grading 25 grams gold per tonne. This plus 7 metres of 6.2 grams gold is included in a 37-metre intercept grading 4.6 grams gold.

Another hole intersected up to 35.7 grams gold over 1 metre. Three others hit 10-29 metres grading 2.25-6.86 grams gold. Included in these intersections were intervals of 2-5 metres grading as high as 6-17.8 grams gold.

Three holes drilled in Zone 2 intersected 10-27 metres grading 1.2-3.89 grams gold. The zone has a known strike length of 250 metres.

Holes were drilled to an average depth of 100 metres. One hole failed to cut significant gold.

The Bissa Hill deposit was tested along a 1.1-km strike by 14 fences spaced 80 metres apart. Each fence comprised two holes spaced 50 metres apart. Ten of the holes intersected 10-25 metres grading 1.02-2.21 grams gold. Two holes cut high grades: 2 metres of 21.9 grams gold (included in a 7-metre interval grading 13.2 grams gold) and 2 metres of 14.15 grams gold.

About 450 rotary-air-blast holes have been completed. Sixteen holes intersected 10-26 metres grading 0.86-3.46 grams gold; two cut 6-metre-wide intervals grading 9.9 grams gold and 11.9 grams gold per tonne; 30 cut 2-8 metres grading 1.01-9.75 grams gold; and several cut 2-3 metres containing significant values. Ten holes ended in mineralization.

Bissa mineralization has been intersected over at least 5.5 km along the Sabce shear zone. The deposit remains open in all directions.

The company plans to test additional geochemical anomalies along the shear zone’s 30-km extent.

Jilbey is earning a 70% interest in the 900-sq.-km Bissa Hill and Zandkom permits by completing a feasibility study on the properties. The property is optioned from GEP Mines, a private company in Burkina Faso.
