Jilbey to drill Nakina area property

A drill program is scheduled to begin shortly on Jilbey Exploration’s (ME) base metal property near Nakina about 125 km north of Geraldton, Ont.

An exploration program conducted late in 1992 delineated two east-northeast trending electromagnetic conductors in the central portion of the 356-hectare property. The 400-metre-long western conductor and 900-metre-long eastern conductor are both thought to represent sulphide-bearing zones. Both conductive zones have coincident magnetic anomalies associated with them. The two conductors may represent one zone that has been offset by a northwest trending fault.

Preliminary lithogeochemical analyses have outlined two areas of sodium depletion with anomalous copper and zinc values. One anomalous area is associated with each of the conductors.

The company also reports that it has staked an additional 240 hectares to protect the western extension of one of the geophysical anomalies.
