Kennecott withdraws from Tintic venture

After spending US$1.5 million on the Tintic project in Utah, Kennecott opted to withdraw from its joint venture with Centurion Mines (NASDAQ).

The project in the historic Tintic mining district was returned to Centurion, along with drill core and other samples generated during the joint venture. Exploration was focused on a copper-gold-silver system. Centurion intends to continue exploring the land package, with work to include drilling.
