Kimberlites eludes Majescor

Using a reverse-circulation rig to sample a couple of poorly defined kimberlite mineral anomalies on its Portage project in the Otish Mountains region of Quebec, Majescor Resources (MAJ-V) drill-tested 11 geophysical targets during the course of the spring campaign without intersecting any kimberlite.

Majescor collected 397 basal till samples from 52 holes to better define a large indicator mineral anomaly that is said to be distinct of the train emanating from the Renard kimberlite discoveries. The Renard cluster sits directly up-ice of the Portage property.

In the meantime, a summer drilling program on the Wellington joint venture with Diamonds North Resources (DDN-V) at Victoria Island in Nunavut ended unsuccessfully. The partners found no kimberlite while testing three geophysical anomalies with four holes totalling 350 metres. Further prospecting and till sampling is planned.
