Kinross warms to Greystar

Prior to an internal review of the company’s Angostura gold-silver project in Colombia, Kinross Gold (K-T) bought 104,000 shares of Greystar Resources (GSL-T) at 81 each. An additional 400,000 shares were purchased during the study, at 75, bringing the major’s total holdings to 10.3 million shares, or 22%.

Other recent insider trading transactions reported by the Ontario Securities Commission in its OSC Bulletin include the following:

Diadem Resources (DIR-M) — George Silverman, director, sold 42,500 shares at 20-22 to hold 102,873 shares.

Etruscan Resources (EET-T) — Gerald McConnell, director, indirectly bought 37,000 shares at 35-50 and was granted 100,000 options directly, which can be exchanged for shares at 36 each, to hold 345,120 shares indirectly and 400,000 options.

Guyana Goldfields (GGFI-C) — John Sheridan, owner of more than 10% of the company and a director, indirectly bought 207,699 shares privately at 30 plus 2,000 shares on the open market at 70, sold 5,000 shares indirectly at 65 and 18,000 shares directly at 64-68, and received 100,000 shares in exchange for services to hold 1.77 million shares in all.

Naneco Minerals (NNE-A) — Archibald Nesbitt, director, privately bought 180,000 shares directly at 20 and 100,000 shares indirectly at 20 to hold 1.38 million shares in all.

Romarco Minerals (R-T) — Paul Stein, officer, sold 11,154 shares at $1.40-1.41 to hold none.

Silver Standard Resources (SSO-V) — Ross Mitchell, officer, exercised 7,000 options at $1.75 plus another 14,000 options at $2.50 and sold 7,000 shares at $2.41-2.75 to hold 73,000 shares and 87,000 options.

Taseko Mines (TKO-V) — Robert Dickenson, director, exercised 250,000 options at an unspecified price, and sold 5,831 shares directly at US$1.50 plus 44,169 shares indirectly at US$1.50-1.75 to hold an unspecified number of options and 526,094 shares indirectly.

Golden Rule Resources (GNU-T) — Glen Harper, director, bought 200,000 shares at 18 to hold 2.09 million shares.

Nar Resources (NRL-M) — David Comba, director, exercised 100,000 options at 50 and sold 48,600 shares at $1.95-2.58 to hold 52,400 shares and an unspecified number of options; Angela Barlow, director, exercised 75,000 options at $1.65 and sold the resulting shares privately at $1.75 to hold 1 million options and 108,000 shares indirectly; and Richard Brissenden, director, exercised 46,000 options at $1.65, sold an equivalent number of shares at $1.90-2.53 and was granted 75,000 options (which can be exchanged for shares at $1.65 each) to hold 29,000 options and no shares.

Opawica Explorations (OPW-T) — Donald Clark, director, bought 5,000 shares at $1.50, sold 24,000 at 83-$1.05 and acquired 20,000 flow-through Class A special warrants at $1.25 to hold 27,500 shares and 20,000 Class A warrants.

Pangea Goldfields (PGD-T) — Ian Macneily, officer, exercised 10,000 options at 81 and sold the resulting shares at $3.80 to hold 15,000 shares and an unspecified number of options.

Tandem Resources (TDM-M) — Stanley Hawkins, director, bought 44,500 shares at 13-16 to hold 3.35 million shares directly and 167,500 shares indirectly.

Valerie Gold Resources (VLG-V) — Carl Hansen, director, bought 5,000 shares at 82-91 to hold 6,000 shares; Frank Lang, director, bought 4,000 shares directly at 65 and 43,000 shares indirectly at 65-$1.03 to hold 340,755 shares indirectly and 1.35 million shares directly; and William Witte, director, bought 20,000 shares directly at 67-$1.10 and 30,000 shares indirectly at 99-$1.05 to hold 85,000 shares directly and 35,000 shares indirectly.

TVX Gold (TVX-T) — Patrick Keenan, director, sold 50,000 shares at $2.42 to hold 50,000 shares directly and 2,000 shares indirectly; and John Craig, director, was granted 72,000 options at $1.33 to hold 1.92 million options and 8,500 shares.

Wheaton River Minerals (WRM-T) — The company repurchased 35,000 shares at 34-35 and cancelled 781,500 shares to hold 35,000 of its own shares.
