Initial prospecting in the Wilson Lake area of Labrador has identified sulphide showings along a contact between older gneisses and a gabbroic unit.
Castle Rock Exploration (VSE) reports that copper values as high as 3.2% were returned, with minor gold, nickel and cobalt values.
The company has staked a further 738 claims in the area to cover the northeastern extent of a regional magnetic high, coincident with the mineralized zone.
Mapping and sampling, as well as ground electromagnetic surveys, will be carried out in August.
In the meantime, Castle Rock has mobilized crews to the Voisey Bay area where it has several property interests surrounding Diamond Fields’ now-famous nickel-copper-cobalt discovery.
