Pierre Lassonde will be the speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, Nov. 21, at Toronto’s Royal York Hotel.
With the aid of slides, he will talk about his 2-week visit to the Soviet Far East, which produces about one-third of the country’s gold, and to Siberia’s Norilsk mining complex, a large producer of nickel, copper, platinum and paladium.
Lassonde is the president of Franco-Nevada Mining and Euro-Nevada Mining.
