Trenching and sampling on two Venezuelan gold properties have returned encouraging results.
Partners Nucore Resources (VSE) and New Aegis Resources (VSE) are exploring the Nuevo Corazon de Jesus (NCJ) and La Trinidad properties, 18 km south of the town of El Dorado in Bolivar state. More than 1,300 soil samples and 43 rock samples were taken, and three pits were dug in the area of the laterite zone.
Results confirm the presence of a large geochemical anomaly with grades ranging from 200 parts per billion to as high as 5.5 grams gold per tonne in soil samples, and 69.37 grams gold in rock samples.
The anomaly is in the eastern portion of the NCJ property and extends on to La Trinidad. It measures 1.5 km north-south by 0.75 km east-west and is still open to the northeast, east and south.
A total of 6,000 metres of auger drilling and 3,000 metres of mechanized trenching will be carried out this spring, followed by 5,000 metres of diamond drilling to determine the extent of the mineralization within the laterite zone.
