LATIN AMERICA — Joint turnkey operation planned

Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin Inc. and Simon-Carves Ltd. of the United Kingdom have joined forces to supply turnkey sulphuric acid plants mainly in Central and South America and in Canada using the Monsanto process.

SNC-Lavalin, a subsidiary of The SNC Group, and Simon-Carves, a subsidiary of Simon Engineering, are both licencees of Monsanto’s sulphuric acid plant technology.

Each firm will own 50% of a new company, Simon-Carves Fenco Inc., which will supply the acid plants and be based in Toronto.
