Widespread copper mineralization was encountered with grades of 1.5-2% dominantly copper oxide over widths of 20-60 metres at the Sierra Valenzuela property in northern Chile, Minera Rayrock (TSE) reports.
Most of the work, part of the first stage of a shallow exploration drilling program, occurred in the property’s Rosario mine area.
Five holes representing 956 metres and 16 rotary holes representing 1,966 metres were completed by late January.
After a holiday break in February, additional drilling of 10 core holes to further define the mineralized zones at the Rosario and Porvenir areas will begin in March. A rotary drilling program of 35 holes is also planned to test additional target areas.
Minera has an option to acquire a 700-hectare property surrounding its Sierra Valenzuela ground.
