LETTERS TO THE EDITOR — Defending `penny dreadfuls’

M.R. Brown’s recent column “Warding off `penny dreadfuls,'” (T.N.M., Sept. 14/92) contains many unfounded comments which we find disturbing.

It is most difficult to understand how The Northern Miner, which has been such a pillar in the resource industry, could allow such a column to be written.

Our firms historically and presently have been instrumental in arranging financing for development of many junior resource companies that have provided for the development and interest of your readership. Mining operators who have been contacting us in support of our efforts are upset by Brown’s comments. Accordingly, you may wish to reconsider what appears to be your newspaper’s position on this matter.
