LETTERS TO THE EDITOR — Others contributed to Troilus

I wish to bring some facts to your attention regarding the photo accompanying the front-page story on Inmet’s exploration incentive bonus plan for the Troilus discovery (T.N.M., July 3/95).

I am a former employee of Kerr Addison and Minnova, and I also worked for several years in the same office as Rob Fraser. The only person in the photo who had anything to do with the discovery of Troilus is Mr. Fraser; all the others came along later — anywhere from two to six years later. Others who had a direct hand in the discovery were geologists Jeff Martin (who worked with Rob at the time) and Stefan Lopatka (who was Rob’s immediate superior in Kerr Addison’s Val d’Or office).

P.T. Coyle

Val d’Or, Que.

Editor’s note: The road to production is never simple, and often there is more to making a mine than discovering the original showings. This was the case at Troilus, which is why the bonus was widely distributed.
