A 3,100-metre drill program is about to begin at the Pionera property in Honduras. Owner Link Mineral Ventures (LMVL-O) will test a silver-copper target recently outlined by soil sampling.
The Cerro Pinolapa anomaly measures 2,600 metres on an east-west axis by 1,300 metres north-south. The company says the trace of the anomaly appears to confirm that the mineralization is stratabound within limestone.
The drilling will examine the mineralized zone on four sections covering 1,500 metres of strike.
The central portion of the anomaly was investigated in the past, with a 380-metre-long adit returning grades of more than 250 grams silver per tonne and 0.35% copper.
The soil expression of the mineralization near the sampled adit areas returned grades-in-soil of more than 3 grams, while newly sampled areas at the western end of the anomaly included some samples grading more than 15 grams.
Mineralization was also observed in a younger, flat-lying limestone 1 km north of Cerro Pinolapa. Reconnaissance work has identified other prospective areas, and Link has applied to expand the concession by 50%, to 17,000 hectares.
