LITERATURE REVIEW SPECIAL — NEWS ROUNDUP — Echo Bay to fix wall at McCoy-Cove

Ground movement of the pit wall at the McCoy-Cove gold mine in Nevada has prompted Echo Bay Mines (ECO-X) to remove the unstable block.

The company will spend US$30 million to remove 30 million tons of waste rock, to be carried out in 1997 and 1998.

The unstable pit wall has had no effect on production or reserves, the company reports. Existing stockpiles of ore will serve as a source of production until stabilization is complete.
