Aris Mining is aiming to attract more institutional investors as it works towards a goal of doubling production by 2026, CEO Neil Woodyer says in a new video.
Aris is investing about $305 million combined at two Colombian mines to boost annual gold output to about 500,000 oz., Woodyer said at The Northern Miner’s London Symposium last month. Two other projects, also in Colombia, are being considered for future expansion.
“It’s a buy and build strategy,” Woodyer said. “We’re trying to create a portfolio of assets that have a good life, a good quality so they are assets that institutional investors want to invest in. We’re all competing for the same institutional investment dollar, and you have to have a good portfolio.”
Woodyer spoke with Adrian Pocobelli, The Northern Miner’s podcast host. Watch the full conversation below. Joint venture videos are paid-for content in arrangement with The Northern Miner.
