Madeleine gets grant for road construction (head)

Madeleine Mines has received a commitment from the Ontario government to conditionally contribute up to $25,000 per kilometre for an access road to its Lac Des Iles project in northwestern Ontario.

Clearing and construction of this road, which will be approximately 17 km long, has already begun. Management hopes that it will be usable by the end of May.

Meanwhile, both diamond drilling and stripping of the platinum- paladium deposit continues.

Also, metallurgical tests on the feasibility of treating the concentrate by hydrometallurgical methods are under way at the Canment laboratories of the federal government in Ottawa.
