reliminary drilling has returned potentially ore grade intercepts at the Sinter gold zone on the San Martin concession in central Honduras.
The concession is held by Mar-West Resources (MSR-V) and Curion Ventures (CUV-V), with 80% and 20% interests, respectively.
Measuring 900 metres in diameter and 170 metres in height, the Sinter zone is domal and exists in a hot springs environment.
Drilling to date has tested a 500-by-750-Metre portion of the structure.
Based on 15 holes drilled to date, the intersections have an average grade of 1.77 grams gold per tonne over a true thickness of 20 metres. Mar-West says that if the mineralization proves to be consistent, the zone could host a resource of 1.2 million oz.
The increased thickness of the gold zone in holes 12 (33.5 metres grading 4.77 grams) and 15 (33.6 metres of 1.72 grams) may indicate the nearby presence of a higher-grade vent or feeder zone, which is typical of hot springs environments.
The Sinter zone is flat-lying and closely parallels the topography, forming a large, near-surface blanket over a hill. As a result, the stripping ratio is expected to be low.
Metallurgical tests indicate the gold is amenable to heap-leaching.
To date, 23 holes have been drilled. Results from the first 15 are as follows:
