A $562,000 exploration program has been recommended for Matt Berry Mines’ Moss Lake property, 70 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ont., the company says. The property, which comprises three claim groups totalling 35 claims, is near ground being drilled by Tandem Resources on which a gold discovery was announced in August.
Crews are clearing an old road to the site and are cutting a grid. A major part of the exploration effort will focus on testing the strike and depth extension of a mineralized zone which was partially mined between 1932 and 1936.
During this period Ardeen Gold Mines produced 143,724 tons of ore grading 0.21 oz gold per ton. The property is developed by a 1,277-ft shaft. Included in the proposed exploration budget is a 14,000-ft drill program.
In Casa Berardi, Que., Matt Berry controls 105 claims in Aloigny Twp. A $300,000 exploration program has been recommended which would follow up previous geophysical work completed on the claims. President Leon F. La Prairie says flow-through funds are available to the company but will only be considered after a private placement offering is completed.
