A first-phase induced polarization survey was recently completed by Melinga Resources (VSE) on the Macuelizo concession in northwest Honduras.
The company reports that several prospective gold-copper porphyry targets were outlined on the property.
The concession already contains a sulphide zone with a preliminary gold reserve of 17 million tons grading 0.045 oz. gold per ton (laterite zone), with an associated copper deposit where preliminary reserves are reported as 4.9 million tons of 0.67% copper.
The second-phase IP survey is expected to be completed shortly. In the meantime, Melinga is continuing joint venture negotiations with several major mining companies.
