Melkior explores in NW Quebec

With gold on the mend, junior Melkior Resources (MKR-M) has resumed exploration at its Launay property in northwestern Quebec.

The company is conducting a $500,000 program of geochemistry and drilling at the 3,000-ha property, 70 km northeast of Rouyn-Noranda in the Abitibi gold district.

In the 1980s, four gold zones were discoverd, including the 75 zone with a resource of 490,000 tonnes grading 4.1 grams per tonne.

Melkior has not conducted groundwork at the property since 1991. The most recent work at Launay was an airborne geophysical survey performed by Dighem in 1998.
