Canadian production of refined copper in September increased to 47,014 tonnes from 42,040 tonnes in September, 1985. Primary copper production decreased to 62,702 tonnes from 63,570 tonnes.

Gold production in Canada during September increased to 9,300,426 g from 8,125,129 g in September, 1985.

Production of primary zinc in Canada during September increased to 1 28,774 tonnes compared with 118,737 tonnes in September, 1985. Production of refined zinc decreased to 37,853 tonnes from 57,961 tonnes.

Indonesian annual gold output could double by 1991 to about six tonn es as a result of 34 exploration and mining contracts awarded to foreign companies. Sixteen of the 18 companies that received the new contracts are Australian.
