Mid-North adds ground

Calgary-based Mid-North Resources (MNU-V) has acquired seven new permits covering occurrences of both platinum group metals and base metals in the Fox River sill area of northeastern Manitoba.

The sill is about 200 km east of Thompson, Man., and runs in an east-westerly direction for more than 300 km. Several majors are reported to be active in the region, including Falconbridge (FN-T) and Australia’s Broken Hill Proprietary.

Mid-North’s original permit, acquired last year, is currently under option to Falconbridge, which can earn a 75% interest through exploration expenditures. A geophysical survey over this permit has been completed.

Numerous untested geophysical targets are present on the newly acquired properties, which total 690,000 acres.
