Drilling on Minefinders Corp.’s East Group property in northwestern Quebec’s Dubuisson Twp has extended the strike length of the gold-bearing shear zone discovered earlier in the year.
Recent results indicate the gold zone traverses the entire property, some 2,900 ft, including a higher grade section of about 650 ft which returned economic gold values over mineable widths.
In all, 22 holes were drilled totalling 11,855 ft with gold values encountered in each hole. Some of the results are as follows:
From To Length oz Au/
Hole (ft) (ft) (ft) ton
86-11 125.0 130.0 5 0.16
86-12 293.5 304.0 10.5 0.39
331.0 334.5 3.5 0.14
86-13 309.0 329.5 20.5 0.11
including
319.0 329.5 10.5 0.16
86-17 156.0 167.5 11.5 0.07
Project geologist, Denis Raymond says results from this year’s exploration program indicate a discovery zone which shows good continuity in grade from surface to a vertical depth of 300 ft. He recommends a follow-up program.
