Drilling and trenching at the Bolsa property in Mexico’s Sonora state are returning low-grade gold mineralization for owner Minefinders (VSE).
Results from the first four reverse-circulation holes, totalling 2,295 ft., are as follows: 225 ft. at a depth of 0-225 ft. grading 0.017 oz. gold per ton for hole 95-3 (including an interval grading 0.057 oz. over 20 ft.); 25 ft. at 475-500 ft. grading 0.067 oz. for hole 95-4; 200 ft. at 0-200 ft. grading 0.01 oz. for hole 95-2; and 40 ft. at 0-40 ft. grading 0.01 oz. for hole 95-1.
Among the additional trench results are 590 ft. of 0.014 oz., which includes: 200 ft. of 0.023 oz. for trench 2; 130 ft. of 0.012 oz. for trench 3; and 130 ft of 0.034 oz., including 90 ft. of 0.045 oz., for trench 4.
Minefinders plans to drill upwards of 25 holes to test the bulk-tonnage potential of the Bolsa property. Meanwhile, the company is carrying out geological mapping and geochemical sampling on its Dolores gold-silver property within the state of Chihuahua.
Previous work outlined three target zones in an area of mineralization that extends beyond 7,500 ft., with widths of up to 1,000 ft.
